Looking on the big screen at your home today, let’s go with “Foul Play.” Here’s the best of the two Goldie Hawn-Chevy Chase comedies from 1978-1980 (the other is “Seems Like Old Times”) and “Foul Play” has a wonderful supporting cast that includes Dudley Moore and Burgess Meredith. “Foul Play” from 1978 is the story of a woman accidentally and at first unknowingly who becomes embroiled in a plot to kill the Pope in San Francisco. Of course, Hawn and Chase provide all the comedy in “Foul Play” and it is really done well despite all the intricate plot twists you encounter. Chase plays the somewhat bumbling police lieutenant who has to shepherd Hawn after the assassination plot is revealed after first investigating what appears to be wild claims by her.
You shouldn’t have to make much of an effort to find “Foul Play” for your “big screen,” so, get out there and watch it!
