Hey everybody, it’s movie time! I’m re-writing the words from the start of a Styx hit song and saying today is “movie time!” For movie time today, let’s watch “The Hollywood Knights” as a change-of-pace to the dark dramas I’ve recently recommended. “The Hollywood Knights” is a comedy that you don’t need identification of age to see … it’s a PG-version of raunchy teenagers having fun!
Although “The Hollywood Knights” is the first film for both Michelle Pfeiffer and Tony Danza, it is another newcomer who takes centerstage and is the movie’s driving force: Robert Wuhl, who plays sarcastic, fun-loving, girl-chasing “Newbomb Turk.”
Wuhl and the rest of the “Knights” has one more night at their favorite hangout: “Tubby’s,” a drive-in that’s coming down to make way for an office building. Well, the guys decide to give a slap-in-the-face to the community group responsible for the coming office building.
Instead of total nudity, intimate relations with an apple pie or, well, total nudity, you get mooning (remember that?); dog poop in a flaming bag on a front porch; a flatulent performance at a high school function and a street drag race.
The most interesting component of “The Hollywood Knights” is that who appears to be the most strait-laced woman in the community group acts as if she would be a better social fit with the “Knights:” she has a casual grope with her boyfriend during a meeting at her and her husband’s house; she has sex with the boyfriend in a car; and she tries to have sex with him on a trampoline. Hmmm, quite a community grope … er, group!
So, find “The Hollywood Knights” and have a little mind candy tonight. You’ll have a lot of fun with it … I guarantee it!
