Honor the fallen on this Memorial Day 2024

Today is Memorial Day 2024 and on this May 27, here’s an example of the proper etiquette for the U.S. flag: It is to be flown at half staff from sunrise to noon and then raised “briskly” to full staff until sunset. Memorial Day honors those members of the military who have given their lives in defense of our country. The lowering of the flag and then raising it symbolizes the solemn occasion of honoring the dead and then raising back to its proper place for the United States. I got this shot this morning at the neighborhood next door to our community here in Naples, Fla.
