Here’s a visual that shows the Naples, Fla., area: a beautiful sports car, top down on a sunny holiday weekend and a couple enjoying their retirement. I got this shot after noticing this magnificent 1965 Corvette Sting Ray and then its license tag. It was a nice moment as I ran an errand near our home here in Naples yesterday (Saturday, May 27, 2024). Note: The models of the Corvette from 1963 to 1968 used two words for Sting Ray, while the 1969-1976 years had it as one word: Stingray. After 1976, Chevrolet didn’t resurrect the Stingray nameplate until the new generation of Corvette was unveiled at a car show in 2014.
