Today, Sunday, Feb. 16, 2025, is national Innovation Day! Yes, a day to celebrate innovations and not to be confused with World Creativity and Innovation Day in the spring. Well, I have three examples of one innovation: tops that spin for a long, long time! Some call them “executive tops” or an “office toy” because they are small and designed to be enjoyed in a small space such as an office desk. I have three examples you can see here and, spun correctly on a proper surface (say marble or a mirror), will spin for close to three minutes. OK, so it’s not much of an innovation, but I enjoy them. I got this shot at our home this morning here in Naples, Fla. Click here to all my photos of my “desk buddies” … (Remember: Click on the small image for a bigger version – then click on that one for the full-size photo.)
