We’re near Thanksgiving for 2025 and I’m continuing the fractured phrase: Hooray for Hollyweird! Most of us love movies and I enjoy recommending what you should watch on any given day. So, Hooray for Hollyweird … and for today’s recommendation, let’s watch a cooking-themed flick called “Who is Killing the Great Chefs of Europe” with George Segal and Jacqueline Bisset.
“Who is Killing …” is one of those wonderful rom-com romps (with a whodunnit bunch of murders laced into the plot) from the late ’70s and early ’80s that, if not for the killings, you’d call comedy fluff. You can easily sit through 112 minutes of enjoyable fun from Segal and Bisset to Robert Marley and his epicurean apocalypse.
The story of “Who is Killing …” is what the title says: someone is killing the greatest chefs in Europe. At the heart of the story is Bisset, who is the top dessert chef in the world and its court jester is Segal, who is Bisset’s ex- and a fast-food developer. The two meld beautifully, even though Bisset is initially not looking to hook up with Segal again.
You’ll have to watch “Who is Killing …” to unravel the plot, but the movie’s climactic attempted murder is more funny than chilling!
You simply will enjoy “Who is Killing the Great Chefs of Europe” … and then you’ll definitely say … “Hooray for Hollyweird!”
