Welcome back to my blog very early in 2026. Here’s my recommendation of a movie to check out today and hope you punch your “Ticket to the Movies!” OK, here’s about the best-ever espionage movie (and it’s free on YouTube now): “Three Days of the Condor” with Robert Redford, Faye Dunaway, Max von Sydow and Cliff Robertson.

“Three Days of the Condor” is the story of a CIA analyst who uncovers something that the Agency doesn’t want uncovered. It gets his section “hit” to maintain the coverup and Redford, as title character “Joseph ‘Condor’ Turner,” must stay on the run until the whole thing plays out. Along the way he kidnaps Dunaway, but she becomes a willing participant.

Just about everything in “Three Days of the Condor” is top-shelf: direction by Sydney Pollack; all the actors; the production; and especially how the screenplay was adapted from the novel “Six Days of the Condor” by James Grady. “Three Days of the Condor” from first scene to the finale is pitch-perfect!

In a most interesting trivia note, the main Soviet spy agency (the KGB) reported that it set up a unit of book-readers similar to Redford’s after its agents in the United States saw the film! What was an author’s creativity (scouring books and periodicals for espionage) became a reality!

So, I say punch your “Ticket to the Movies!” and watch “Three Days of the Condor.” You’ll definitely thank me later.
