I pour out a generous portion of wild bird seed just about every day at our home here in Naples, Fla., so buy 10-pound bags to restock. Here’s the bag of bird seed that’s about to head into the rotation of the buffet for birds hanging just outside the screen door of our patio. Our most frequents diners are Mourning doves, common grackles, Northern cardinals and blue jays. The grackles do the most damage as they manage to spray seed everywhere and that’s why the doves are usually on the ground pecking through the grass for their meals. I got this shot on our patio yesterday (Monday, April 20, 2026) as I went to reload the bird feeder again.
