Each year on the third Saturday of June (and today is Saturday, June 20, 2026), you can celebrate international Surfing Day! Yes, despite living in Southwest Florida (not a surfing hotspot), I have taken photos of surfers! I took this photo of a surfer while we were at the Carlsbad State Beach on July 25, 2021, while visiting our daughter in Southern California. An online resource calls Surfing Day an “environmentally-conscious holiday that celebrates surfing and the sustainability of ocean resources. It also promotes surfing and encourages more people to dive into this fun sport.
