I finally captured an image of a different bird species at our smart bird feeder this past weekend. Our most frequent visitor is the common grackle (Quiscalus quiscula), but we also have had blue jays (Cyanocitta cristata). However, I haven’t caught many via a screen grab from the livefeed from our BirdBuddy bird feeder. So, here’s the blue jay that visited on Saturday (Aug. 15, 2026) at our home here in Naples, Fla. The other species that visit on a regular basis are American mourning doves (Zenaida macroura); both a male and female northern cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis); a red-bellied woodpecker (Melanerpes carolinus); and a house finch (Haemorhous mexicanus).
