Since tomorrow (Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2026) brings the 2026 primary election, I hope that the spam texts from political candidates stops backing up into my phone like an overflowing sewer – at least until the general election in November. I understand candidates want to get their messages out, but I’ve received more than a dozen unsolicited texts from a single candidate in the past two weeks. As to the inundation of texts, it is as “Marshal Lucky” says in the movie “Used Cars:” “That’s too #$^%ing high!” I’ve used Photoshop to remove identifying content, even about the ambitious candidate that continues to saturate my iPhone. I did a screen grab of this text on Aug. 15, 2026, as early voting ended that day.
