Pay $1.1 million for a tear-down? Yep! Yesterday (Sunday, Oct. 11, 2026), I photographed this demolition-in-progress of a home in the Four Seasons community next to our neighborhood here in North Naples, Fla. The properties in Four Seasons have become “hot” for building new megahomes because of the one-acre size of the lots. Further, many of the homes, such as the one I photographed, had been lived in for decades. The new owner paid $1.1 million this past March. The first sale of the lot was in 1978 for $15,000; the second was to the owner who had the house built that you’re seeing being destroyed and he paid $25,900 in 1981. Quite a change in price over 45 years!
