It was quite disappointing when the Formula One racing organization (F1) decided to move to the pay-only platform of AppleTV for the 2026 season. Guess what? Such a move and its results doesn’t surprise many folks. Fewer people are now watching F1 in 2026, while the racing federation and network claims longer viewing times by fewer people. Wow. It’s too bad that F1 decided to limit expanding engagement in the racing series. After having followed closely in the 1970s, I had a resurgence in recent years because of network and ESPN broadcasts. No more. I haven’t seen a single race in 2026 because AppleTV isn’t on my subscription list. I took this photo of the promo for today’s F1 event in Texas (Sunday, Oct. 25, 2026) of our tee-vee here in Naples, Fla.
