My alphabetical posting of suggested films continues today with “Bobby Deerfield.” I have to say, this is Al Pacino’s absolute WORST film. Whew! This one’s a pure stinker. “Bobby Deerfield” is so bad that when I saw it originally in a theater, people booed at the end! In watching it again, “Bobby Deerfield” didn’t improve with age. It stunk then; it stinks today. It’s a shame because it is a movie centered around a Formula One racecar driver (Pacino) who becomes human again from his fame and fortune because of a woman with challenges (Marthe Keller). I can’t ruin “Bobby Deerfield” for you, otherwise wonderful director Sydney Pollack did that by making it, but I won’t spoil “Bobby Deerfield” either – but it won’t take you long to figure it out!
So, I’ve begun posting all my film reviews in alphabetical order and I’ve updated links and more on many of the reviews. Below is the link back to the full review.
