Today I’m noting a milestone for my blog “A Gator in Naples.” I’ve now passed 45,000 page views on this blog that began in 2014 – May 22, 2014, to be exact. That’s 1,496 days or an average of 30 page views per day. While not much by today’s multi-zillion page counts on the Drudge Report or major news, entertainment and sports websites, I enjoy at that at least a few people find my movie reviews and photos.
The most intriguing note is how a very critical movie review that I’ve written about the reboot of “CHIPS” has become the second most popular page on the blog in less than a year. “CHIPS” is near 1,000 page views (nearly a third of what the homepage has received) since it went live on July 9, 2017. At 968 page views today, it should hit the 1,000 mark in about 10 days.
My biggest single day for page views was Feb. 28, 2018, with 2,109. I guess a spider crawled through my site and rang up that big number. I’m usually averaging between 15 and 30 page views each day, but often more when someone finds a topic such as Halloween Horror Nights. I’ve had visitors from more than 100 countries and after “CHIPS,” the most-read review is my look at the TV mini-series “Noble House” from the James Clavell novel of the same name.
I started the blog as a way to explore the WordPress system in 2014 and have taken a lot of satisfaction writing the reviews and posting the photos (I’ve posted 1,513 photos we’ve taken at Disney World). So, thank you for visiting. I hope you found something interesting.
