My alphabetical posting of suggested films continues today with “Liar Liar” starring Jim Carrey. Here’s one of the best examples of a one-joke movie. “Liar Liar” is about an attorney who gets a birthday wish by his son cast on him and he can’t lie for 24 hours. Then the hilarity ensues! “Liar Liar” is well executed; it’s fun to watch; and it has a couple of surprising twists along with obvious stereotypes. However, “Liar Liar” remains fresh with its one joke throughout and Carrey is simply marvelous in a role made to fit his manic personality.
