My alphabetical posting of suggested films continues today with “Local Hero.” Here’s one you’ll have to work to find, but it’s worth it. “Local Hero” is a small story of a small town being bought by an oil company. It has no action. It has a pace best described as glacial and so you know it’s … British! “Local Hero” is a wonderful little movie that is nearly impossible to describe in a brief fashion. “Local Hero” has only one real recognizable star – Burt Lancaster – but he’s just a small player. So, I don’t know what else to say in this small space.
