My alphabetical posting of suggested films continues today with the original “Ocean’s 11” from 1960. Here is the pure definition of cool with Frank, Dean, Sammy and the rest of the “Rat Pack.” “Ocean’s 11” is a caper film, but no one cares about the caper; it’s a buddy film and everyone cares about all the buddies. “Ocean’s 11” is great cinema because it is pure Hollywood star power with a little acting tossed in. It has great back stories (Shirley MacLaine has an uncredited scene and you get to see former mobster and actor George Raft as well as a cameo by Red Skeleton) and you’ll love every minute of “Ocean’s 11.”
I’m posting all my film reviews in alphabetical order and I’ve updated links and more on many of the reviews. Below is the link back to the full review.
