My alphabetical posting of suggested films continues today with “Road House.” Here’s a watchable film that is a vehicle for headliner Patrick Swayze, but it is another actor who steals the show. “Road House” is the story of a barroom “cooler,” that is, the person in charge of maintaining order. Swayze is the “cooler” in “Road House” and he’s the best. However, it’s not his work that deserves attention, it is Ben Gazzara with acting chops in this one. “Road House” isn’t anywhere near approaching great and it could only possibly be good, but, as I already noted, it is watchable. “Road House” is all over the cable grid, so it is easy to find.
I’m posting all my film reviews in alphabetical order and I’ve updated links and more on many of the reviews. Below is the link back to the full review.
