My alphabetical posting of suggested films continues today with “Shallow Hal.” Here is my favorite “sorry-I-missed-it” film. “Shallow Hal” is clever, funny and, most importantly, poignant. It stars Jack Black as a superficial guy who has his mind opened to women who are beautiful on the inside – in a nice cameo with self-help guru Anthony Robbins. Bringing “Shallow Hal” to the screen is the Farrelly brothers team. Black sees the beauty of nice women, even if they’re not exactly what you’d call pretty. I’m not enthralled by the milquetoast effort by Gwyneth Paltrow in “Shallow Hal,” but that doesn’t detract from the overall greatness of the film.
I’m posting all my film reviews in alphabetical order and I’ve updated links and more on many of the reviews. Below is the link back to the full review.
