My movie reviews A-Z: Today … ‘They Live’

My alphabetical posting of suggested films continues today with “They Live.” Here is a typical John Carpenter film – it is uneven; isn’t well-filmed and ultimately fails to achieve his aim. Carpenter’s “Halloween” is a classic with Jamie Lee Curtis, but most of the rest of his efforts fall far, far short of that mark (take “Escape from New York” as just one example). “They Live” is a creative story of aliens having invaded Earth and have subverted society. Carpenter tried to make social commentary with “They Live” about real life, but doesn’t achieve it. Still, you should check out “They Live.”

I’m posting all my film reviews in alphabetical order and I’ve updated links and more on many of the reviews. Below is the link back to the full review.
