My alphabetical posting of suggested films continues today with “The Toy.” Here’s a flick with “Flick” (ha ha) that has a very few great moments, but so few and much other crap that it is a horrible … well, flick. “The Toy” stars Richard Pryor, Jackie Gleason and the kid who was “Flick” in the iconic holiday movie. However, while the one is great, “The Toy” stinks. In short, Gleason’s son “buys” Pryor to become his friend. Hilarity ensues, but in a stereotypical, stupid way. In the end, you’ll like some of the work by everyone, but, put together in “The Toy,” doesn’t measure up.
