My alphabetical posting of suggested films continues today with “Wag the Dog.” Here’s a great film that speaks as much today as it did when it premiered 21 years ago. “Wag the Dog” was headlined by Dustin Hoffman, who won an Oscar for his work in it, and Robert De Niro, who did not. “Wag the Dog” is a political tale told through the then-emerging technology of “fake news” going “viral.” It’s the story of the creation of a “war” so that a political issue for the president up for election can be kept out of the spotlight. You saw it. You’ll like “Wag the Dog” again.
I’m posting all my film reviews in alphabetical order and I’ve updated links and more on many of the reviews. Below is the link back to the full review.
