Today, May 27, 2019, is Memorial Day. Each year, I post a story with links to war films that I have reviewed. I’m honoring the fallen through these reviews and letting you know that cinema has offered a look at the sacrifices made to ensure our freedoms today.
So, here are links to war films that I’ve reviewed for my blog. The films are mostly serious films about war, but there are a few with a comedy component. However, by putting them all together under the “war” heading wasn’t intended to make light of the concept of war or making any light on this most serious of holidays. Also, several of the films focus on military units other than fielded by the United States. Again, no disrespect intended — I’m just posting links to war movies.
So, I just enjoy war films and today’s a good day to highlight war in cinema. Click here to read the list of the battles in which the most Americans paid the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedoms today. I posted an image of the outstanding World War II film “Saving Private Ryan” but I haven’t reviewed it yet. Maybe I will …
