My movie suggestion for today is … to watch a film about the D-Day invasion of Normandy during World War II – click here to read my movie suggestions from 2014 at the 70th anniversary. Today, June 6, 2019, is the 75th anniversary of the historic and iconic battle. U.S., British, Canadian troops were joined by volunteers from nine other countries to drop from the sky or storm ashore in northern France to begin the western offensive against Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany. There is no doubt about the best D-Day film: Steven Spielberg’s “Saving Private Ryan.” There are others but after “Saving Private Ryan” and “The Longest Day,” you’ll have to go to the HBO mini-series “Band of Brothers” for equal quality. So, on this most solemn anniversary, please remember those who sacrificed all.
So, I’m doing a sometimes recommendation of a movie or TV show … and they’re all movies or TV shows that I’ve reviewed on this blog. Below is the link back to the original review.
