My movie suggestion today is … to get back into the swing of summer fun with “The Glass Bottom Boat.” Here’s a Doris Day comedy that is also a spoof of the wildly popular “007” films. Doris isn’t “James Bond” (but you do see “Napoleon Solo” in a cameo) in “The Glass Bottom Boat,” but she’s a lot funnier. Here’s a wonderful way to spend just under two hours of your time. Doris is a PR person for the brilliant head of a company involved in Cold War stuff. She gets caught up in the security paranoia and makes you laugh as she shoots it all down! You’ll find TV greats from Paul Lynde to Dick Martin here and you won’t mind that you’ll forget Rod Taylor as soon as the film’s over. “The Glass Bottom Boat” is simply a hoot!
So, I’m doing a sometimes recommendation of a movie or TV show … and they’re all movies or TV shows that I’ve reviewed on this blog. Below is the link back to the original review.
