My movie suggestion today is … to watch the remake called “Ocean’s Eleven.” I simply hate “reboots.” Hollywood is stifled with a lack of creativity, so all it does is franchise or “reboot” old movies and TV shows. However, “Ocean’s Eleven,” despite and because of the overrated George Clooney, is the gold-standard exception. Here’s the update of Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack’s original and “Ocean’s Eleven” does it well … a neat updating of the story and great work by the wonderful ensemble cast. The sequel to “Ocean’s Eleven” stinks (thank the talentless Catherine Zeta-Jones for that), but the second sequel is as good at the first remake – and I’ll get to that tomorrow.
So, I’m doing a sometimes recommendation of a movie or TV show … and they’re all movies or TV shows that I’ve reviewed on this blog. Below is the link back to the original review.
