Try this flick … “Midway.” Tomorrow is the 76th anniversary of the invasion on D-Day in World War II. So, today, I’m suggesting a film that reminds us not of the war in Europe, but of the United States’ first big victory over Japan in the Pacific: “Midway.” The big victory was at Midway island and is considered the turning point in the war in the Pacific. The 78th anniversary of that battle passed earlier this year and “Midway” is one of four films released in “Sensurround” sound and is a big-screen, big-cast spectacle film. “Midway” was recently rebooted and I hope the new effort is good, but the original is most always better. So, before tomorrow’s binge-watching of D-Day flicks, watch “Midway” today.
