OK, so I blew it. I’m a day late in honoring those who perished in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the Twin Towers in New York City and the Pentagon. Another attack was thwarted by passengers on a jet who perished when the aircraft crashed in Pennsylvania (click here for an overview of the attacks by Islamic extremists). So, I’m playing catch-up today by posting in honor of those who died that day (nearly 3,000) and those who since died due to illness from rescue efforts and the heroic actions of many who go unpublicized today. Here is a photo I took in 2007 at St. Paul’s Chapel in New York City, which became a HQ for rescue efforts. It shows the badges of the many law enforcement and rescue organizations that took part in the rescue operations. However, folks found my photos and this tiny blog notched a couple dozen page views of the variety of photos that I’ve shot in New York City at the memorials to the heroes of 9/11.
