Try this flick … “Citizen X.” Here’s a film with a very disturbing subject: The most prolific serial killer documented in the history of Russia and the Soviet Union. It is an HBO film, one of the early efforts that paved the way for non-studio efforts. “Citizen X” is the story of the years-long search for the serial killer, who preyed on youngsters traveling on the region’s train system (very few traveled in their own vehicles in that Communist paradise). “Citizen X” stars Stephen Rea and Donald Sutherland, who won a Golden Globe for his effort in it, and both actors give top-of-resume performances. If you can find it, watch “Citizen X.” It’s a rough ride, but worth it.
So, I’m doing a sometimes recommendation of a movie or TV show … and they’re all movies or TV shows that I’ve reviewed on this blog.
