Try this flick … ‘The Big Fix’ is both drama and low-key comedy

Try this flick … “The Big Fix.” Here’s an unusual whodunit! “The Big Fix” is from the post-hippie era that is totally influenced by the rebellion of the 1960s. However, the film tries also to have a comedy component for its star Richard Dreyfuss, but this only manages to detract from the effectiveness of the film. Dreyfuss is a low-end private eye and gets drawn into a political conspiracy with its roots in “the movement” of the ’60s. “The Big Fix” sounds very noir-ish (and is, somewhat), but it would have been better off as either a dark drama or comedy. Being both just doesn’t really work. What you’ll have to do is work to find “The Big Fix,” but it will be worth your time.

So, I’m doing a sometimes recommendation of a movie or TV show … and they’re all movies or TV shows that I’ve reviewed on this blog.
