Try this flick … “The French Connection.” Here’s a cop classic with a classic car chase that won five Oscars and was nominated for three more. It’s the based-on-a-true story of a couple of New York detectives who throttle the “French connection” – the pipeline bringing heroin to the U.S. from Europe. Gene Hackman stars and he gives an Oscar-winning performance. He is surrounded in “The French Connection” by solid supporting actors, especially Roy Scheider and Fernando Rey, who plays the top smuggler. “The French Connection” is a wonderfully detailed film that takes its time getting to the climax. You won’t be disappointed.
So, I’m doing a sometimes recommendation of a movie or TV show … and they’re all movies or TV shows that I’ve reviewed on this blog.
