Try this flick … “Hooper.” Here is what I consider Burt Reynolds’ best movie. Yes, he did better acting in a couple of others (take “Boogie Nights” as one example), but for pure fun matched with his trademark comedy, you don’t get better than “Hooper” … and its better than “Smokey and the Bandit” – his iconic car-chase classic with the legendary Jackie Gleason. In “Hooper,” Burt plays an aging stuntman and he’s being pressed by a young and up-and-coming stuntman. He has to deal with a variety of issues and it’s all framed by the filming of a movie that finally goes overboard with the stunts. You’ll enjoy this one, even if you haven’t enjoyed Burt before!
So, I’m doing a sometimes recommendation of a movie or TV show … and they’re all movies or TV shows that I’ve reviewed on this blog.
