Watch It! There’s another golf comedy that comes to mind first when you think of this sport, but you have also watched and enjoyed Adam Sandler in “Happy Gilmore.” While “Happy Gilmore” isn’t the pinnacle of golf comedies (we know which one is, right?), it is a tremendously funny movie for those of us who enjoy golf … as well as those hoi polloi who enjoy Sandler’s vein of comedy. “Happy Gilmore” is the story of a nearly rabid ice hockey player who finds that he can hit a golf ball a long, long way. From there, he winds up on the “pro tour” and becomes a success as well as the target of the No. 1 golfer’s growing ire. Ah, forget about the plot, just enjoy “Happy Gilmore.” Even if you don’t like golf … Watch It!
