Today’s new(old) Disney photo: Thankfully, the EPCOT issue has been settled

I’m now posting photos we’ve taken in years past at Walt Disney World. I’ve never posted them on my blog, so I’m calling these each as a “new(old)” photo! Here’s a photo from November 2013 that shows officials at WDW were inaccurately portraying EPCOT. Look close, both all-capitals and upper-and-lower case versions are used. The correct way? ALL CAPS! WDW finally got back on track last year: “Well, Walt Disney World has finally accepted what I knew all along: EPCOT should be all capital letters — EPCOT. IT’S AN ACRONYM! At one point in the mid-1990s, some idiots thought it would be better to do Epcot. Wrong! Wrong! Sorry, Imagineers involved, I don’t like to be critical of you, but it was a big, big mistake. Wrong then and luckily the wrong has now been corrected as of February 2020. The name has always stood for Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow – EPCOT. Not. Epcot.” Click here for my photo of Spaceship Earth with the wrong presentation … (Remember: Click on the small image for a bigger version – then click on that one for the full-size photo.)
