Yeah, yeah … closed captioning believes ‘dissent’ is ‘decent’

Today, I’m continuing my posting of egregious errors in closed captioning. Of course, I realize after months of watching CC that it doesn’t rely on humans (unless there’s a cadre of the most supremely ignorant goofballs working for them). The so-called “artificial intelligence” that uses “voice recognition” to create some of today’s CC is dumber than anything you can imagine. In this case, the episode of “Dragnet” where the police have to stifle “decent.” Sure, they’re out to stifle goodness. Of course, it should be “dissent,” but the idiotic CC has no real intelligence. Sigh. Just another example of technology’s stupid side. I got this shot on June 3, 2021, but didn’t post until now. Click here for all my examples of the stupidity of CC … (Remember: Click on the small image for a bigger version – then click on that one for the full-size photo.)
