Watch It! “Let It Ride” is a little-remembered gambling-themed flick from the late ’80s that stars Richard Dreyfuss. It has a great cast, a great storyline and … just about fails on all fronts. However, you blame that on the director (who was called at the the time “king of commercials” and it shows). “Let It Ride” is the story of a compulsive gambler who wants to give it up to save his marriage. However, a friend gets an inside tip … and it’s off to the (horse) races! “Let It Ride” never pulls all the quality components together, but it is totally watchable, especially David Johansen as the wonderfully psycho “Loony.” You’ll get a lot of gambling stuff, but, surprisingly, it doesn’t drag down the film at all (the director did enough of that). So, find “Let It Ride” if you can and … Watch It!
