Watch It! “Parenthood” is a story about a family and family life. While there is a comedy component (with Steve Martin as a co-star, you expect it), “Parenthood” is much more a drama with the dark side of families and family members than it ever was intended as a comedy. The wonderful Ron Howard was in the director’s chair for this one and it’s the story of a family in Florida that is … well, dysfunctional at all levels. Still, in “Parenthood” they are human and often endearing, but two actors (Jason Robards and Tom Hulce) manage to make you become disgusted with their characters. Ah well, no family is perfect and “Parenthood” shows you that fact of life. So, find “Parenthood” and … Watch It!
