Watch It! If you can, choose the original “Rollerball” with James Caan and John Houseman over the steaming pile of feces of the same name that was remade with Chris Klein. “Rollerball” is a perfect example of how Hollywood takes a outstanding flick from the past and absolutely trashes the name. The remade “Rollerball” has little discernable acting; a viciously bad screenplay; and the worst kind of direction. On the other hand, the original “Rollerball” is great sci-fi: it has wonderful action in context; a wonderfully creative plot; and actors doing good work. So, if you can find the original “Rollerball,” then … Watch It! If you can’t find it, then get the original and … Watch It!
