Watch It! “Barbarians at the Gate” is a very early HBO film that showed what quality that non-studios could bring to the big screen. “Barbarians at the Gate” is not the story out of Dungeons & Dragons or the Marvel universe, it is the story of a stock takeover of the then-titled RJR Nabisco. “Barbarians” shows how junk bond kings ruled the roost and corporate greed was just beginning to hit its slimy stride. Well, no matter what you believe about slimy corporate America, watch “Barbarians” because the late James Garner is simply terrific. So, Watch It!
