The egregious errors in closed captioning are so prevalent in this day-and-age of voice recognition, that I’m probably going to stop pointing them out. CC has been allowed to join the new millennium in not giving a flying rat’s backside for quality in product. The idiots in charge simply don’t care how many mistakes are made – just that it would cost money to have a proper system that allows editing of closed captioning. Of course, I don’t mean live events (you simply can’t keep up fast enough), but on TV shows, movies and documentaries, it can and used to be done. Not today. Here’s my latested example of the “stupidity” inherent to CC. I got this shot off our television on Nov. 30, 2021, at our home here in Naples, Fla., and it shows how NOT to spell “allies.” Click here for all my examples of the stupidity of CC … (Remember: Click on the small image for a bigger version – then click on that one for the full-size photo.)
