If you can find a great contrail as the setting sun gives it illumination, then you’ve got a great photo such as this one. I hate to call my own photograph “great,” but I’ll go further and say this one is “outstanding.” I enjoyed first seeing and then photographing this contrail as I drove home from work here in Naples, Fla., on Dec. 17, 2021. The contrail was so long that I couldn’t manage to get a photo with the aircraft and the end of the contrail in view.
