Here we are at the end of 2021. Looking back on the past year, I reviewed only five films: “Moneyball” with Brad Pitt; “The Octagon” with Chuck Norris; “The Way of the Dragon” and “Enter the Dragon” with Bruce Lee; and the horror cult fav “Phantasm” with no actor you’ve seen. With more than 300
movie reviews and a total nearing 400 total reviews, I’ve had more prolific years, but COVID (along with my lack of enjoying superhero flicks) has contributed to a scarcity of decent films to see for the first time. As for the five I reviewed this year, three were kung-fu-type films, including the all-time martial arts classic “Enter the Dragon” (which was released a few months after Lee’s death); one was from the horror genre as I already noted; and “Moneyball” is just an outstanding motion picture and you need to forget it is about baseball (Hollywood didn’t and again snubbed a great baseball flick despite nominations).
So, looking forward to 2022, I’m setting a goal of one movie review each month. Tune back in to see for yourself!
