Looking on the big screen at your home today, I’ll steer you to the original “The Getaway” from director Sam Peckinpah and starring Steve McQueen and Ali MacGraw. Forget the crappy, lowlife “reboot” that “stars” the talentless asshat Alec Baldwin, go with the original “The Getaway” – it is simply a sensational motion picture and arguably the best from a legendary director. In “The Getaway,” McQueen, as a top-notch crime planner, is in prison and gets sprung so he can lead a team to a bank robbery. Well, everything goes wrong while McQueen and MacGraw burn up the screen together. From the direction, acting and overall filmmaking, “The Getaway” is superlative American cinema, courtesy of Mr. Peckinpah.
I’m sure that you’ll be able to easily find “The Getaway,” so make the effort for your “big screen” at home!
