Looking on the big screen at your home today, try “Grease” and “Grease 2.” I put them together in one review because a comparison was begging to be made. The original, of course, is a big-screen musical legend. The somewhat-sequel? A dog with fleas. Well, I should temper those comments. “Grease” is a great musical and adapted from a Broadway production, but it is nowhere near being a great film. It’s at best … well, OK. At the same time, “Grease 2” is a stinker from beginning to end, but it has positives the original does not have – such as chemistry between the headliners. Of course, both are musicals set back-in-day and have similar plots: exchange student at high school gets entangled with the coolest gang on campus and, well, things happen.
I’m sure that you won’t have to spend much time looking for “Grease” or “Grease 2,” so you’ll have some fun on your “big screen” at home!
