Remember when the Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor was the symbol of law enforcement’s cruiser? Today, departments such as the Collier County Sheriff’s Office and the Naples Police Department have mostly Ford Police Interceptor Utility vehicles. However, I saw this CCSO Crown Vic as I was stopped at a red light on the early evening of April 23, 2022, near our home here in Naples, Fla. I’ve seen the CCSO use Crown Vics as “community service” vehicles or decoys to park alongside busy highways, but this is the first operational one I’ve seen in a long time. The construction of such Crown Vics ended 2011 and the last was delivered to law enforcement in 2013.
