Looking on the big screen at your home today, don’t look at “The Jackal.” I give this warning because this stinker floats to the surface of the movie listings from time-to-time and you shouldn’t watch it. “The Jackal” is a reboot of the outstanding original “The Day of the Jackal.” Unfortunately, in rebooting the original, the filmmakers kicked themselves in the butt. “The Jackal” stinks because of a lack of creativity; it is hollow because it has a cast that is solid, but doesn’t perform well; and the whole thing is not worth your time. BTW … “The Jackal,” just like the original, is about an assassin on the trail of a notable political target and all his tricks to make the hit.
You won’t have any trouble finding “The Jackal” for your “big screen” at home. However, whether you should find it is the real dilemma. So, don’t watch “The Jackal.”
