Today’s “must” movie is the “reboot” called “CHIPS.” It is a “must” today, but a must “not-see” today. “CHIPS” the movie stinks; it’s rank; it reeks … and to call it garbage is to insult garbage. Yet, “CHIPS” is the most popular review on my blog and has 3,000 more page-views than the No. 2 review and is the Hollywood update to the venerable TV show.
Of course, “CHIPS” is the story of a couple of California Highway patrol officers. See, the filmmakers couldn’t even get the title correct – it should be, as the TV series had it, “CHiPs” with the acronym of the CHP blended with the lower case “i” and “s” to form the name. Sigh. When you can’t get the name spelled correctly, you’re too stupid to make the film (right, Dax Shepard?).
I won’t take time now to spell out any more problems that I have with this monstrosity. Just read my review of “CHIPS” and you’ll see that I pull very few punches … such as writing that watching this film is like a colonoscopy with the anesthesia or lubricant.
Make sure you go out of your way not to watch “CHIPS.” You will most likely be disappointed if you watch it … I guarantee it!
