Today’s “must” movie is “Back to School” with the late, great Rodney Dangerfield. We’re coming to the end of a school year and that means students will be headed off to college this summer. “Back to School” shows how you don’t want a parent tagging along to make a point.
Dangerfield goes “Back to School” when his son is in danger of dropping out of college. Rodney goes “Back to School” to show him how to get an education … and winds up giving one.
Of course, “Back to School” isn’t going to happen now any more than it would have nearly 40 years, especially since the exteriors were filmed on the University of Wisconsin (Madison) campus where the movie will never be shown, much less filmed, because of the politically correct asshats who run that school today.
Still, you get Rodney on campus with the stereotypical group … but you also get a top-notch supporting cast from Burt Young to Sally Kellerman to Keith Gordon to Robert Downey Jr. The cast, along with the jokes, makes sure “Back to School” is completely memorable and can be watched multiple times.
You won’t have any trouble finding “Back to School” and you’ll enjoy it. I guarantee it!
