A lionfish is beautiful, but it is a harmful creature in the Atlantic

My best friend has been on vacation with his wife on a yacht-type cruise that started in the Bahamas to the east of our home state of Florida. Here’s another photo that he took in the Exuma region of the Bahamas while scuba diving on June 13, 2023. This is a lionfish and it is an invasive species along the southeastern Florida coast, the Bahamas, the Caribbean and parts of the Gulf of Mexico. He shot this with an Olympus TG5.
